Massachusetts state fire marshal Stephen Coan attended the unveiling of a residential fire sprinkler system in a home in Northbridge, Massachusetts. During his interview with NFPA, he advocated amending the state building code to require sprinkler systems be installed in new homes.

The home is a donation to the family of Chris and Amy Murray. The Murray's have twin sons with disabilities that make a fast escape during a fire challenging. The residential fire sprinkler system will buy them valuable time to escape from a burning home.
