MESSAGE FROM CANDIDATE FOR WALLER COUNTY SHERIFF - WILLIAM "BILL" BRIGHT:

As we approach the upcoming election, I would like us to consider the following before casting a vote.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~ Crime cares little for what political party it's victim's belong to. ~ Crime is not interested in one's social status in the community. ~ Crime is not interested in race or ethnic background nor does it care about ..................what means most to us, our security, and safety.

With this in mind, I will be a leader and county protector against crime for the next four years. I will be personable, forthright with answers and the concerns of the citizens. It is not often you meet someone who sincerely cares for all of the citizens of Waller County and seeing their rights as citizens are upheld like I do.

~ I will be a leader, dedicated to our community, and will have the citizens of Waller County's best interest at heart. I am compassionate and caring for my fellow citizens and will take the time to talk to and acknowledge YOU!

~ Safety for the law-abiding citizens of Waller County will be my primary focus. I am not a politician. I am an experienced law enforcement officer with one agenda - YOU, the citizens of Waller County.

~ When it comes to serving arrest warrants, criminal summonses, civil documents, or guarding the Courthouse, one's political affiliation does not matter. We will arrest, serve, or evict anyone that breaks the law ~ Period ~.

~ I have been a lifelong conservative Republican. However, crime does not hold any specific political party, it crosses all party lines. Therefore, it really does not' matter if I am a "Democrat" or "Republican," the only thing you need to consider and remember is: I am a Law Enforcement Officer.
~ I believe that "Your Safety has no price or party attached to it.
~ Like many of you, I have lived in Waller County over 35+ years and therefore, I too, have a personal interest in keeping us safe.

~ I have served as Constable for Precinct 2 for four years. My staff and I collaborated, created, and implemented successful programs for the citizens such as Neighborhood Watch, Outstanding Warrant Round-up in which we collected $95,500+ in warrant revenue during the 18 months it was in effect.

~ If elected as YOUR Sheriff, I will re-energize employees, giving them direct ownership along with accountability in their work. We have to change the look of the agency, raise the bar in training at all ranks; equip our deputies with pride and leadership. We need a respectable and stable department.

~ My experience will play a key role in making Waller County a safer place to live. The Candidate for Sheriff's job is not a job of strictly law enforcement. You have to be an administrator and a communicator. However, you can be assured that I will take an active role along side the deputies as they pursue the criminal elements in Waller County.

~ We are going to address the drug situation in Waller County in a more aggressive manner. I plan to implement programs for crime critical hours. These programs will work hand in hand with the investigations department and the narcotics department.

~ In addition, I will stress community policing. "The law enforcement can't do it by themselves. We have to have the help of every citizen in this county. We have 43,000 citizens, and every one of them deserve to live without fear of drug dealers, sexual predators, thieves, and drug dealers.

~ It is my promise if elected as your Sheriff; I will address our drug problem, reduce the violence, remove illegal drugs from our streets, and protect our families and children from violence.

~ During my term, there will be new challenges. I will meet these challenges, by balancing the growing needs for law enforcement services versus respecting the limits of your tax dollars. I will improve and excel in many areas critical to law enforcement.

~ However, there remain many vital issues and challenges ahead.

~ The men and women of the Waller County Sheriff's Office will work very hard, risking life and limb, to protect the citizens of Waller County. If elected, it is my intent to give them the tools they need to stay safe, to keep you safe, and to create a downward trend of crime in Waller County.
